HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIGHTSPARK RECRUITMENT!
As I write this, I find it hard to believe that it has been THREE whole years since the start of BrightSpark Recruitment. It doesn't seem five minutes since all the planning and preparation was underway, getting ready for the very first day of business on 6th February 2006. I remember being up at the crack of dawn in my lovely new home office; everything was in place and I was all set to start my little empire. Only for my computer to crash, my telephone line and broadband service to break down and my website to encounter difficulties that were way over my level of technical understanding (for those of you that know me, that’s not so high).
Now three years down the line, I am in another lovely new office which has been affectionately named 'BrightSpark Towers'. Even throughout all the talk of the 'Credit Crunch' and 'Recession' (see previous blog for my thoughts on 'the current climate' - Argh!), here at BrightSpark we have managed to remain steadily busy with fantastic new candidates and interesting new organisations coming on board weekly for assistance with their temporary and permanent recruitment requirements.
Having worked with several Employment Agencies previously and as I enter my 9th year in the Recruitment industry, I can honestly say I still genuinely love my job and can't imagine doing anything else. I love the way that no two days are the same, the amazing people I have had the pleasure to work with and satisfaction that comes with finding someone their ideal job. It has always been my intention to offer a personal service to everyone that comes to me; I don’t work to targets or with the 'bums on seats' approach and strive to be seen as a 'friend' to my candidates and an 'in house recruiter' to my clients. For someone that goes to pieces in interviews herself, I often find it surreal to hear myself advising others on how to present themselves in an interview, however I guess it is easier to see the attributes in others than yourself!
Anyway, the reason for this entry is purely to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that has worked with BrightSpark Recruitment to date, all the candidates that have travelled over to Sunny Soham to register with me and the organisations that have used our services for their HR/Recruitment requirements. Thank you also to everyone that has offered their Testimonials for my advertising, they mean such a lot and I'm so very grateful (See Clients / Candidates). Without wanting to turn this into something of an 'Oscars' speech, I also feel I need to say a huge thank you to the fantastic 'Viva Diva's': Lisa, Martha and Daniel (www.viva-group.org.uk) for providing me with BrightSpark Towers, my glamorous assistant Emma for all her help, her filing abilities and the fabulous daily playlists, Adam the Website Man for humoring me and my lack of IT knowledge and, most importantly, my amazing family and friends for their consistent support over the last three years.
Here's to the next 3 years – Cheers!
